The final rule amended the restriction of the phthalate chemicals from six to eight. The 8 specific phthalate chemicals being prohibited are:

di-n-pentyl phthalate (DPENP);
di-n-hexyl phthalate (DHEXP);
dicyclohexyl phthalate (DCHP);
diisobutyl phthalate (DIBP);
di-(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP);
dibutyl phthalate (DBP); or,

The new rule will be enforced beginning April 25, 2018. Toys entering the US market on and after that day will be regulated by the new policy.
